Screening for Abdominal Aortic 动脉瘤 (AAA)

An 动脉瘤 is an enlarged area in a blood vessel. AAA affects the aorta, the artery that carries blood 和 oxygen to the body. If this area ruptures, the bleeding that results can be life-threatening.

You should consider this screening if you are:

Screening for Carotid Artery Disease (CAD)

Carotid Artery Disease is a narrowing of one or both arteries in the neck. These are the main blood vessels carrying blood from the heart to the brain. CAD increases your risk of stroke.

Screening for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)

Peripheral Artery Disease is a narrowing of arteries that supply blood 和 oxygen to the legs, 胃, 手臂和头. The disease occurs most frequently in the legs 和 can lead to leg pain when walking.

What happens during screening?

Vascular screening is fast 和 non-invasive. Our technician will place blood pressure cuffs on your arms 和 legs 和 use ultrasound to see how well the blood is flowing in your legs, 腹部和颈部. The screening lasts approximately 30 minutes.

What if the screening shows a problem?

If screening shows an issue, you will be referred to a vascular surgeon for follow-up, which may include further testing.  If the screening reveals an urgent issue, our vascular surgeons are on-site to take immediate action.

Treatment for vascular disease includes lifestyle changes, such as exercise or quitting smoking, medications 和 surgery. Your physician will work with you to determine the best course of treatment.
